Police Crime Commissioner tells Wythall News his plans to tackle vehicle crime and ASB

A number of residents have written to us since the start of 2021 worried about the increasing rise of vehicle crime and anti-social behaviour happening in and around Wythall.

We spoke to John Campion, the police and crime commissioner for West Mercia to hear how he plans to tackle this problem.

“It is disappointing to hear of the unacceptable vandalism and vehicle crime in Wythall. Keeping the communities of West Mercia safe, and feeling safe, is at the heart of my commitment as Commissioner.

“My 2021 police budget reflects this commitment, with 91 more officers set to be recruited in West Mercia. This is in addition to over 300 recruited in the last three years, with these officers already out on the streets in communities like North Worcestershire.

"I remain committed to making sure the residents of Wythall receive the efficient and effective police service they deserve, and I will continue to fight for that by providing West Mercia Police with the resources required to tackle ASB and vehicle crime in the area, whilst holding them to account for this.”

Whether or not things change, it's clear to see John Campion is committed to tackling this problem.
