Will you be helping Woodrush gain extra funding?

Teachers at Woodrush High School in Worcestershire are urging parents to write to their local MP regarding school funding. A letter was sent out on the 18th September detailing the situation and how they can help?

The school sits on the Worcestershire Birmingham border and takes students from all over Birmingham yet doesn’t receive equal funding. The staff at Woodrush hope to change that by contacting their MP, home secretary Sajid Javid, to ask for an increase.

It’s not just Woodrush that is struggling,

Worcestershire as a county receives less funding than its Midland neighbours. Compared to schools in Birmingham, children in Worcestershire receive £887 a year less.

Leigh interviewed two parents of students attending Woodrush to get their thoughts.
